An interesting and captivating journey of a shy kid who proved his mettle and became Naval Harrier Pilot in Indian Navy…................
Commander Bill Hothi in his Memoirs has regaled his readers with his story that begins from tales of carefree days in Punjab; and recounts his progress from an often ‘scared of the teacher’ kiddo to the level of a celebrated Naval Aviator afraid of absolutely nothing.
Encouraged by teachers and his grandmother he proved to be a super achiever and an all rounder throughout his academic career. He learnt to think on his feet; and beat odds that often seemed against him to be a cadet in the Navy.
Commander Hothi’s dream was to be a Fighter Pilot so the logical choice was Aviation in the Navy. He went on to be a pioneer trainer on the Harrier aircraft; he had the honour of landing the first Harrier on INS Viraat.
The book fills the reader with admiration and utmost respect for the men who possess spines of steel. They face rigors unlimited; they do have feelings but rarely can indulge them. Respect!
